The Nip Inn

N 57° 29.062 W 004° 14.027

Whilst researching some historic background on the Nip Inn, there was much anecdotal chat about how, with it's close proximity to the docks, that the pub was surreptitiously used to smuggle guns into the country by the IRA back in the 70's … It makes a good story, however the Nip Inn prior to it's inception in 1998 was a greengrocer! Perhaps they were talking about that other dubious pub in town, Gunsmiths? (now under new management and called 'Spirit Level')

if you're ready to carry on, ... now we're looking for a famous sportsperson who lived and worked next door. can you find their last name?
