The Innes bar

N 57° 29.001 W 004° 13.758

The Innes is another one of the oldest pubs in the area and used to stand alone serving a small community on the edge of Inverness. Although starting up some 50 years after the Market Bar records from 1867 show the first licensee was Jessie Taylor. The pub has had many names over the years and in 1962 Scottish & Newcastle bought it and renamed it "Innes", after the street designed by Mr Innes which grew up around it. The pub and street have now been enveloped by Inverness, but still holds onto its "local" atmosphere especially by Inverness Calley Thistle fans on a match day.
